Sacraments

The Holy Eucharist (Communion) is celebrated each Sunday and on all festival days. All those who are baptized and share with us the faith that Christ is truly present for forgiveness, life, and salvation are invited to share in the Lord’s Supper.

Younger children will be instructed by the pastor and their parents in preparation to receive the Eucharist.

Holy Baptism is the Sacrament of Welcome where individuals are united with Christ and his church. Baptisms are scheduled with the pastor at least three months prior to the date of the anticipated baptism. Baptism of infants and children will involve preparation by the parents with the pastor. Adults seeking baptism will participate with the pastor in instruction prior to baptism.

Please contact the Pastor at 618-466-2788 or at rlcelca23@gmail.com to make an appointment.

Although the Lutheran church does not consider marriage as a sacrament, it is nonetheless a sacred event. Arrangements for weddings need to be made with the pastor at least one year in advance of the wedding date so that there is ample time for preparation.
